An East & West Kootenay favourite, the Jumbo Hut is a great backcountry experience at the height of the Purcells.
Located high on the Catamount Glacier, the Olive Hut requires glacier travel skills and experience to access. This travail rewards visitors with unparalleled scenery and solitude. Short, undeveloped climbing routes abound nearby on Bugaboo granite.
This hut is hard to get to and offers a true wilderness experience with ski touring, mountaineering and wildlife viewing.
This hut is relatively easy to access, and offers beautiful views across the basin to the Catamount Glacier, not to mention steep and deep tree skiing from the ridge above.
The area accessible from the rustic McMurdo hut offers wildlife, scenery and high country travel in the summer and great ski touring options for winter users.

As volunteers, our time is limited to help you choose a Hut, plan your trip or assess whether your party has the skills & experience necessary to safely make the trip. You really need to be confident in your own groups capabilities and experience level.
Generally we do not have current specific road or trail conditions, seasonal changes vary widely from year to year, go prepared for uncertain back country road conditions particularly.
