The threads in the soft aluminum female threads get easily stripped by the hard steel male threads on the canisters. This can render the stove useless, or worse cause a propane fire in the Hut!<\/p>\n<p>Its come to our attention that inconsistent manufacturing may be partially at fault and want to share what we know with you.<\/p>\n<p>!Avoid buying canisters\/tanks that have slightly longer unthreaded shanks &#8211; see the closeup pics. 2\/16ths max!<\/p>\n<p>!Avoid buying canisters\/tanks that have painted threads &#8211; encourages thread stripping!<\/p>\n<p>!Seasoned Hut users carrying a spare connector \u00a0&#8211; could be a trip saver. Available at most hardware stores. !Do not buy &#8220;River Trail&#8221; Brass connectors commonly sold at Home Hardware as the stove end is quite different!<\/p>\n<p>Although all canisters\/tanks may work when the connector is new, once partially worn your choice of tank could be the difference between enjoying your meals hot, or chewing on raw pasta&#8230;
